Mother’s Day is coming fast and Father’s Day will be here before you know it so get your orders in early.  They are $4 per block plus shipping but I will give discounts for larger words.

DSCF1557

Think of a special word and what pictures you want to use and you will have a one of a kind gift.

I’VE BEEN BUSY

My SPRING letters have taken off like crazy and I just want to thank all of you who ordered them and then told your friends and your friends told their friends and so on.

I still have a couple if anyone is interested.

GRADUATION DAY

The chicks are out of the bathtub!

My son Josh built me a chicken coop for the newest members of the family.

DSCF1513

We are all about using recycled wood and whatever we have laying around so this is what he came up with.

DSCF1509

When I built my deck last year from pallets (see this post) I saved all the leftovers. The only money I spent was on a box of screws.

DSCF1506

He made a door that swings up on the side so we can access their house.

DSCF1512

He is going to put wheels on it so we can push it around in the yard and they can eat bugs and stuff and fertilize the grass.

DSCF1525

They love their little house but are not too sure about the coop part.

DSCF1518

They like their roost.

DSCF1523

And of course they like to poop! EUWWWE!!!

DSCF1521

Brooklyn is giving them lessons on climbing their little ladder back up to their house. And she has named them…

SALLY, BAILEY, FUZZ WUZZ, SMOOTHBERRY and BROWNIE.

WOMEN’S CONFERENCE

Anybody going?

Image25

I am soooo excited and can't wait.

In the LDS (Mormon) Church we have the wonderful opportunity of meeting as sisters from all over the world once a year at BYU for

Women's Conference.

We have classes that inspire and teach and wonderful service projects. We are entertained and fed well both spiritually and physically.

It is a tradition for my dear friend Vickie and I to go together. Several years we have stayed in the dorms and a couple of years we stayed in my Motor-home. This year we will be staying in the dorms. I am giddy with anticipation.

MOM for SALE

SHHHHHH! Don’t tell my girls about these but I had to post this now

in case you (yes, all 2 of you) wanted to order some for Mother’s Day.

DSCF1493

These are blocks with your own personal pictures on them with whatever letters or words you want. I’ve done these in black and white and sepia because I like that look but they can also be done in color. Each block measures 3 1/4 x 4 1/2. I will try and get some more samples made but the possibilities are endless.

DSCF1475

I am charging $4 per block plus shipping but will give discounts for larger words. You just need to email me your digital photos and I will go from there. (If you don’t have digital photos, you can mail me your hard copies and I will return them with your order.)

DSCF1479

If you would like some, just leave me a comment and we will go from there.

Thanks. Janis

CLEVER GIRLS!

In the LDS (Mormon) church, our young women, ages 12 – 18 gather together once a week to learn and grow together. They have lessons and activities that help them become better Daughter’s of God.

My dear friend Mimi Sue asked me and my other dear Sue to help  the girls  make something for their Mothers for Mother’s Day. We had so much fun and to watch the creativity of these young girls unfold was amazing.

They took my simple idea…

And came up with this…

PAINTING POTS IN PAJAMAS

And other fun things.

DSCF1387

It’s Spring Break so that means sleepovers and crafts with Grams.

DSCF1379

We painted Styrofoam cups to look like clay pots and then decorated them.

DSCF1381

We baked chocolate cupcakes (in pajamas) and frosted them with chocolate frosting, put some candy in the bottom of our pots and then put the cupcakes in.

DSCF1386

We took flower shaped sugar cookies, (thank you Wal-Mart) and put some frosting and M&M’s on them. I actually hot glued them onto a stick then stuck them into the cupcake and used some green peanut M&M’s for the leaves.

DSCF1397

I think it would have helped if the cupcakes were not so fresh because the flowers tended to fall over.

We also painted a decorated plastic eggs. (In Pajamas!)

DSCF1358

DSCF1367

They are very beautiful!

DSCF1375

Then being the mean Grams that I am I made them sort buttons. (In Pajamas)

DSCF1376

Lots and lots of buttons!

DSCF1392

Then we took a trip to the bead store(in pajamas) so we could make bracelets.

DSCF1370

And last but not least, hanging out in the trees with other cousins.

(Not in Pajamas!)

GOT DISHES?

I have a new DISHWASHER. Who knew?

Reminds me of the old story my husband loves to tell.

There was once a man invited to a friend’s house for dinner. When he sat down to eat he noticed the plates were nailed to the table. He asked his host  how they cleaned the dishes. The response was, “They’re as clean as soap and water can get them.”

Being satisfied he piled his plate with food and ate it all. After everyone finished eating, the man now wanted to see how the dishes were done. To his dismay, his host opened the back door, whistled and called, “Here Soap, here Water!”

That’s my funny for the day.

CHECK THIS OUT

WINDOWS LIVE WRITER   I just found out about it from Diane over at A Picture is worth a Thousand Words.  This makes blogging so much easier.

It’s as much fun at this……..

I LOVE QUICKIES

Just a couple of quick projects.

I love my SILHOUETTE cutter. It is beyond me why anyone would buy a CRICUT when you can buy a SILHOUETTE for $150.00 and cut anything you want without having to buy cartridges or anything else.

The vine pattern came with the machine and I found the rabbit online and just copied it into the program and it automatically formatted it to cut it out.

I got the plate at a thrift store for $1.00. There you have it, quickie # 1.

Quickie # 2...

My Bekah came over yesterday to make these little wet wipe containers for a couple of her friends. All you do is cover them with a little batting and fabric and glue it down and trim it out with some ribbon and accessories.

We dug through my stash and found this airplane I had done 3 years ago. It worked out perfectly for the little boy one.

And just look how cute she made them. She just put them on a package of wipes and tied them on with some cute ribbon.

I found this wreath at the same thrift store and put it around this jar I have.

I put a little nest is it with a little birdie...

and there you have it, quickie # 3.
