I just can’t help myself. I still had a few FREE DOORS "STUPID" left over so of course I had to do something with them.
So I took them apart and cut them into strips and put them up in my old sewing/craft room…
I was really sad to these old walls go…
My Dad and I did them together about 13 years ago. We took brown paper bags and cut them up and got them wet and wrinkled and then put them on the wall with wallpaper paste. Then we sponged different colors all over. It used to look really good but after years of hanging things on the wall and little fingers finding loose corners and ripping it off, it was time for a change…
So my new walls look much better. I had one of my “Halves" help me paint them…
(I know, it’s not a very good picture) And they turned out like this…
Then the floor that used to look like this…
Got some strips and paint and now it looks like this…
Then out came the tape…
And some paint left over from this…
Green tape and red paint make a Christmas floor…
Oh and speaking of red… I had a little accident with my table saw…
It’s pretty nasty so I won’t post a picture here but if you like the sight of blood and raw flesh, go HERE.
OUCH!

Okay, I'm the type of person that you say, don't look to, and I have to look. So I looked, oh crap that was so bad! How did it happen?
But your floor and walls looks great! Is that why you chose red for the floor? Hope it gets better soon!
Mother it really wouldn't be a complete project unless you had an injury or near death experience. I'm glad you haven't completely removed entire digits and limbs yet.
I'm with Anita, don't tell me not to do something, it brings out my stubborn streak!
Oh my goodness, I can only imagine how badly that hurt!!!
I love your Christmas floor, can't wait to see it sans tape! You make me wish I owned my house so I could do fun things like hang stupid doors on my walls *Sigh* Someday!
Sweet Lord in Heaven! I wish you hadn't said "go here" because, of course, I had to go look. That looks painful! Please take care of your finger.
On another note, I must say I'm loving your makeover room, especially the floors!
I have been wanting to do planked walls like that in my bedroom but my hubby thinks everything has to be a huge job! Heck I'd hot glue em up myself. and ya, owie! That is why I am afraid of power tools!
i decided NOT too look at the yucky finger. Can't stand blood. Eew.
Great wall and floor though. Sweet that you and your cute dad did the wall previously. Mom remembers when your dad was our first bishop when we joined the church. A very sweet man. i think that is what she told us. we can't remember cuz we were just little.
I had to look. That was awful. And then everytime I would click to open another page your picture just kept coming up on my screen! LOL I finally got rid of it....
But why is it everytime we try to do something we get hurt? I love the wood on the walls, they came out really nice. And I fell in love with your red barn! I have to look around your blog to see more pics of that!
Hope your finger gets to feeling better!
Hugs, Ann
Oh my word... is that why you painted the floor red? I know cheesy joke. I just bought a table saw and this is my biggest fear. Oh that looks so painful.
Love the new look... can't wait to see it finished. Great job.
Hugs, Deb
Well I didn't look. Couldn't make myself. I hope the finger heals okay. Your wall looks great as does the floor.
Yeah- I looked- I work in a hospital so you know I HAD to look! I LOVE your floor...I think you are one of the most talented people I know~ Great, great job.
BTW-I have a free magazine giveaway going on over at my blog if you are interested at all- Hugs- Diana
